Bay of Grouville, Jersey
The south and west are mainly sandy, so aim for the north and east coast for rock pools which are teeming with marine life. Jersey’s large tidal movents mean you may have to walk a long way to get to the water when the tide is out.
Amazingly because of the large tidal range, you can even catch lobsters and deeper water sea life, that you otherwise would need a boat for.

Shoalstone Beach, Devon
This is a shingle and rock beach with plenty of rock pools to explore and a 25 metre sea water swimming pool. Look out for beautifuly coloured anenomies like Devonshire cup coral – Caryophyllia smithii.
